    Commitment: Wednesday Evenings, 6-8 PM, for 6 Months & 2-Day (non-overnight) Retreat

    Reports To: Volunteer Services & Site Program Staff

    About CrossPurpose

    At CrossPurpose, we are on a mission to abolish relational, economic, and spiritual poverty through career and community development. We believe that significant change happens through significant relationships-and our Allies are at the center of that impact. .

    Who is an Ally?

    A CrossPurpose Ally is a volunteer mentor, friend, and encourager who walks alongside our program participants(called Leaders) during their six-month journey of personal transformation and career training and. Allies are not coaches, case managers or counselors-they are consistent, compassionate, and committed community members who offer support through authentic relationships.

    What You'll Do

    • Show up weekly to our Wednesday night Family Gatherings (6-8 PM) to share a meal, build friendships, and discuss life and career goals with a small group (10-15) of Leaders and 2-3 other Allies.
    • Attend a two-day (non-overnight) retreat in the first month of the program to deepen relationships.
    • Encourage and support Leaders by listening well, asking thoughtful questions, and celebrating progress.
    • Partner with fellow Allies and staff to foster an inclusive, welcoming space.
    • Participate in orientation and training to grow in empathy and mentorship skills.
