    About the Organization:

    Youth Action Services Inc (YAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children impacted by homelessness. YAS provides programs and services designed to foster a more effective system that values each child, aiming to break down barriers and create opportunities for them to thrive. YAS’s mission focuses on embracing and empowering children in the municipal shelter system by developing a holistic approach that integrates mental health support to address their unique needs comprehensively.

    Position Overview:

    The Social Media Volunteer will play a key role in expanding YAS’s online presence and enhancing engagement across social media channels. This position involves hands-on experience in content creation, curation, and overall social media management, all with the goal of maintaining brand consistency and delivering impactful messaging. The ideal candidate will assist with content creation, event coverage, and engagement efforts, contributing to the growth of YAS’s digital community.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Boost brand awareness and cultivate a positive online reputation for YAS.
    • Assist in managing and scheduling content for YAS’s digital platforms, including social media and website updates.
    • Publish high-quality, original content, including images, videos, and written posts.
    • Help implement and maintain a content editorial calendar for effective and timely campaign rollouts.
    • Provide support during events, ensuring dynamic and engaging content coverage on social media.
    • Edit and prepare video and image content for posts that captivate and inform the audience.

    Education/Experience:

    • Background in marketing, communications, or liberal arts preferred.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
    • Ability to balance creative marketing skills with a data-driven approach to track and measure impact.
