Celebrate Lunar New Year with Garden staff in the beautiful Upper Meadow! Surrounded by seasonal blooms, volunteers will help bring the Year of the Horse to life through engaging activities inspired by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean traditions. Also known as the Spring Festival, Lunar New Year celebrates renewal and the transition from one zodiac sign to the next, symbolizing hope for a strong harvest and a flourishing year ahead.
Volunteers in the Upper Meadow will support guests by encouraging participation, providing directions, and assisting with activities. This area will feature Bau Cua Tôm Cá (a traditional Vietnamese gourd-crab-fish dice game), Mahjong, cultural activities such as an Èrrénzhuàn (handkerchief folk dance from Northeast China) and a dragon puppet walk, as well as a festive photo opportunity for guests to capture the celebration.
