    Description

    Farm-to-School Programming Assistant

Currently seeking outgoing and fun-loving Field Trip Volunteers to assist with our 2026 Spring field trips!

    Dates:

    • New volunteer training: Friday, March 13, 9a-1p
    • Volunteer Season: Week of March 9 to week of June 1

Days/Times: Choose 1 day per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays, 9a-1p.

Event Overview: In the fall and spring, Baltimore City Schools K–5th-grade students come to our 33-acre outdoor learning laboratory to engage in hands-on, real-world farm-based and culinary experiences. We run additional programs for students of all ages from schools for students with special needs.

Volunteer Roles: As a volunteer, you'll help with field trip set-up and clean up, assist our educators in teaching experiential lessons with our plants and animals and on our trails, engage with the students, have fun answering student questions and guiding conversations with them during lunch, and help prep food in our commercial kitchen for student tastings.

Volunteers must commit 1 day per week over a minimum of 2 months to receive training and join our student programs. Come join the fun!

Call or email us to tell us about yourself and why you're interested, and then we'll set you up for a visit!

Not available to volunteer every week, but still might want to help with an occasional program? Be in touch. We also need volunteers for our in-school programs (weekdays), seasonal summits (weekdays), and our fall and spring Family Hours (Saturdays).
