Hey, there! Do you have a hobby, passion, or talent you want to share? Do you like talking or listening to others? Not sure what you're looking for? Well, folks like you help us put the "hope" in hospice! Hospice volunteers do more than solely work with death and dying - oh, the contrary! Hospice volunteers get to bring the excitement, life, and joy into patients and their loved ones' lives through a ton of different ways. From baking and singing, to pet therapy and reiki, you can find anything from Veterans' matters to simple, meaningful conversation with hospice patients and their loved ones.
Our volunteers are specially trained but do not provide direct patient care, give medications, or make medical decisions. As an invaluable resource to patients and families, you will bring a friendly smile, warm conversation, a hand to hold or offer a welcome respite for a family member. A volunteer coordinator takes time to get to know about you and your life passions to ensure the best match to maximize the reward for both you, the volunteer, and the patient. Some volunteers choose direct patient support while others work behind the scenes at the office or with the hospice team.
