    Description

    About Justice At Last

Justice At Last is the only nonprofit law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area exclusively serving the legal needs of survivors of human trafficking. We provide clients with free legal services regardless of their age, sex, gender identity, abilities and equity needs, nationality or type of trafficking. We emphasize a holistic approach that empowers survivors to achieve justice on their own terms.

    Experienced Board of Director

We need volunteers willing to serve Justice At Last as a Board of Director that have experience on non-profit or for-profit boards. Join us and have the opportunity to impact social justice and help enhance the lives of trafficked persons. We are expanding and diversifying our Board of Directors, with a goal of being inclusive. We are seeking candidates that are representative of the community we serve, have Board experience and a particular skill set, including finance, data analysis, fund raising, event planning, marketing expertise, and or human resources.

    Location Requirement and Time Commitment

There is a requirement that the Board of Directors be residents within the San Francisco Bay Area. Board of Director terms are 3 years and there are 6 remote meetings per year, typically the 1st Saturday morning of every odd month.

    Responsibilities

    • Be an ambassador on behalf of Justice At Last and know, understand and support the organization’s mission: To empower those who have been labor trafficked and commercially sexually exploited by providing access to free comprehensive legal services, advocacy and specialized trainings to help transform survivors’ lives.
    • Attend at least 75% of the board & committee meetings and special events each year and be actively engaged in helping meet the needs of the organization.
    • Make an annual financial contribution at a level that is personally meaningful.
    • Actively participate in at least one fundraising activity each year.
    • Stay current with all the facts upon which board members must base their collective opinions and decisions, including financial responsibilities.
