    We ask that you make a one year commitment to the program, giving two hours of tutoring and an hour of preparation time each week. Tutors and students meet once a week at a time and place convenient for both. Meetings can be virtual.

    Volunteers must be at least age 18 and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. No previous teaching experience is required. We provide extensive training and support for our tutors and students.

    Volunteers Needed: Help an Adult Learn to Read!

    Literacy Volunteers–Quincy is looking for compassionate volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring in basic reading and writing to adults in the South Shore area of MA.

    Orientation Sessions (via Zoom):

    • Tuesday, October 28 | 10:00–11:30 AM
    • Friday, November 14 | 10:00–11:30 AM
    • Tuesday, December 9 | 10:00–11:30 AM

    You only need to attend one of these sessions to get started.

    Requirements:

    • Must live in the South Shore area of MA.
    • Meet your student in-person, usually at a local library convenient for both of you.
