    Commitment Details:
    All general members should expect to commit 1 - 2 hours/week, while executive directors should expect to commit 3-4 hours/week. All members are expected to complete tasks on time, attend weekly 30-45 minute meetings on Sundays at 5:30PM PST.

    The role descriptions are listed below:

    Start a School Club

    By starting a school club, you can foster climate action in your school and community. Applicants should be able to commit 2 hours a week. CYCAT's school clubs are able to advocate for policy change, host events and workshops, and spread environmental awareness.

    Financial Advisor – 2 positions available

    Financial advisors work under the executive director to support communication, decision-making and cooperation. They will need to develop and monitor budgets, analyze financial trends, and advise on cost-effective resource allocation while providing general support towards every department. Applicants should have some experience or knowledge of what this position requires.

    Policy & Advocacy Department - CYCAT’s New Department!

    Director of Policy & Advocacy - 2 positions available

    Leader of the department, the external representation and implements policy instructions in collaboration with all members.

    Researcher - 3 positions available

    Conducts policy research, drafts briefs, meetings, information and monitors legislation.

    Campaign Manager - 4 positions available

    Plans, executes advocacy campaigns and coordinates coalitions.

    Communications Coordinator - 2 positions available

    Manages public messaging in the form of emails, digital advocacy and media relations with communication skills.

    Partnerships & Events Department

    Partnership Coordinator - 2 positions available

    Reaches out to external organizations, tracks communications, and helps build and maintain meaningful collaborations that align with CYCAT’s mission.

    Event Coordinator - 3 positions available

    Assists in planning and executing CYCAT events by supporting logistics, registration, and coordination while collaborating with other departments to ensure success.

    Newsletter Department

    Researcher – 1 position available

    Finds and compiles relevant climate news, statistics, and updates each month, providing credible sources and summaries for writers to develop into full articles.

    Journalist - 3 positions available

    Creates engaging written content for the club’s newsletter by reporting on events, highlighting member stories, and capturing key updates in a clear and compelling way.

    Layout & Design Coordinator - 1 position available

    Manages, designs, and coordinates the CYCAT Newsletter website to ensure articles are engaging and captivating.

    Internal Affairs Department

    School Club Coordinator – 1 position available

    Strengthens the foundation of school clubs by supporting organizational structure, improving internal communication, and helping streamline essential operations. May also be assigned additional tasks at the discretion of the Internal Affairs Co-Directors.

    Podcast Department

    Scriptwriter/Narration Coordinator - 2 positions available

    Responsible for writing scripts for our podcast and coordinating narration.

    Outreach/Interview Coordinator - 1 position available

    Responsible for identifying and reaching out to potential podcast guests (such as youth leaders, experts, or climate advocates), coordinating interview logistics and scheduling, and preparing briefing materials and questions to support the host and ensure smooth, engaging interviews.

    Audio Editor - 1 positions available

    Edits podcast recordings for quality and flow, adds music or transitions, and finalizes episodes for publishing on streaming platforms.

    Production Coordinator - 1 position available

    Responsible for coordinating the production of a podcast.
