    Description

    Storytelling Volunteer- Dadar

    Reading Sessions:

    • Conduct engaging story sessions using interesting storybooks, novels, and materials that revolve around various life values.
    • Provide children with the gift of imagination and contribute to healing from any previous anguish they may have experienced.
    • Encourage active listening and open discussions after stories to deepen impact.

    Creative Storytelling Methods:

    • Utilize a variety of creative methods such as drama, skits, and other interactive activities to make storytelling dynamic and memorable.
    • Apply audience-focused techniques to tailor tone, format, and delivery.
    • Integrate visual aids, props, or multimedia when available to bring stories to life.

    Collaborative Planning:

    • Work closely with the Bookwallah team to plan and execute story narration sessions that align with our Bookwallah’s Theory of Change.
    • Share feedback and ideas to continuously enhance storytelling strategies and programming.

    Session Plans:

    • Create comprehensive session plans based on value-based stories, ensuring each session is entertaining and educational.
    • Ensure sessions are structured, age-appropriate, and adaptable for different group sizes or abilities.
    • Include pre- and post-session activities that extend learning beyond the story.

    Story-Sparklers Program:

    • Develop and implement activities and initiatives as part of the Story-Sparklers program, enhancing the overall experience for children based on the stories shared.
    • Design follow-up crafts, games, or discussion prompts to reinforce story values and messages.
    • Monitor engagement levels and suggest improvements to increase the impact of the program.

    Buddy Program:

    • Actively participate in the Buddy Program, fostering connections and providing support to children within the program.
    • Engage in one-on-one or small group interactions to build trust, boost confidence, and encourage self-expression.
    • Document child progress or behavioral observations to help improve support strategies.
