The USS Midway Museum is looking for a mission-driven volunteer to help list donated items for sale on your eBay account. This remote-friendly role supports the preservation of history for generations to come.
What You'll Do:
- List donated items on eBay using your personal account (required)
- Work approximately 1–4 hours per week (flexible schedule)
- Research/write descriptions and take photos of historic artifacts with some assistance from staff and volunteers.
- Drop off sold packages at your local post office
- Occasionally visit the ship to pick up or photograph items
- Keep accurate records, deduct expenses for posting and mailing, and give a quarterly accounting with a check to the Curatorial Department.
Who You Are:
- You have some experience selling on eBay
- You have a personal eBay account in good standing
- You own or have reliable transportation to and from the ship
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Personal computer or smartphone
- Personal camera or smart phone to take pictures of items.
- You’re tech-savvy, organized, and have attention to detail
- Detail-oriented, a quick learner, and self-motivated.
- You’re passionate about giving back and making a local impact
