    Job Description:

    Position Overview: Waystone Health and Human Services is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors as volunteer members. Our organization is committed to serving individuals with disabilities, and we are looking for passionate leaders to help us fulfill our mission through effective governance and strategic oversight.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Governance Role: Support the development and implementation of Waystone’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our mission and goals.
    • Board Engagement: Collaborate with fellow Board members and the President/CEO to carry out Board resolutions and initiatives.
    • Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist with recruiting new Board members and support their onboarding.
    • Meeting Participation: Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, held every other month in Lawrence, MA, alternating between in-person and virtual formats.
    • Expertise Contribution: Leverage your professional background in legal, accounting (CPA), or healthcare to provide valuable insights and guidance in decision-making processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a governance role, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
    • Background in law, accounting (CPA), or healthcare is highly desirable.
    • Strong commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and a passion for community service.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to dedicate time and resources to fulfill Board responsibilities effectively.

    Time Commitment:

    • Board meetings every other month, alternating between virtual and in-person formats.
