This is a volunteer opportunity to make film & video for public benefit. No prior skills are required. The charity WORLDwrite’s spring 26 train and shoot volunteer package is designed to help you make factual programmes with us. A dynamic blend of online and face-to-face sessions, all volunteers receive immersive camera training using WORLDwrite’s top-end film equipment and invaluable hands-on experience behind the lens. This opportunity is open to everyone, regardless of your level of experience, whether you’re a seasoned Hollywood director or have never touched a camera. During the package we will be filming play readings of C.L.R James Black Jacobins and inspiring talks at Hackney Film Festival. One evening a week via Zoom and some weekend days face to face is all it takes! All volunteers are credited for their input, references are provided along with travel expenses to shoots and lunches are provided on training & shoot days.
This is a part-time 'Train & Shoot' volunteering package. Quite a few of the sessions are online via Zoom one evening per week and the camera training and shoots are on the weekends.
All the package dates and sessions are detailed along with a simple application form at: https://www.worldwrite.org.uk/volunteering/.
If this suits you, you will need to complete our application form. Sorry its more form-filling but this will let us get to know you, and you us. And fear not, no one is turned away.
Once you have completed our form we can confirm your place and will then send you the Zoom link to the introductory meeting. We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any queries do email us.
Best wishes
