    About Us:

    Young STEAMers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing engaging and accessible STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education to children in underserved communities. Our programs combine hands-on creativity with real-world science to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in young learners.

    Opportunity Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated and creative volunteer to support the revamp of our curriculum for grades Pre-K through 5 and 6-8. This is a fantastic opportunity for educators, scientists, artists, or STEAM enthusiasts who want to make a meaningful impact on educational equity and innovation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and evaluate current Young STEAMers lesson plans and materials
    • Provide suggestions for improvement in content, structure, and engagement
    • Help align lessons with age-appropriate learning goals and STEAM standards
    • Suggest new themes, activities, or hands-on experiments
    • Ensure curriculum is inclusive, culturally responsive, and adaptable for diverse learning settings
    • Collaborate with the Young STEAMers team via email or Zoom (remote work)

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Background in education, science communication, curriculum design, or a related field
    • Passion for STEAM education and hands-on learning
    • Creative thinker with strong writing and editing skills
    • Organized and self-motivated
    • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school aged children is a plus
