Board Member Responsibilities

• Attend monthly board meetings, held on the last Thursday of each month (in person or virtual).
• Actively participate in discussions, planning, and decision-making to guide EMC Arts’ mission and growth.
• Serve as an ambassador for EMC Arts, promoting our programs, events, and community presence.
• Support fundraising initiatives, including the annual gala, student performances, and community events.
• Participate in at least one committee (e.g., fundraising, marketing, education, or community engagement).
• Contribute ideas and expertise to strengthen our programming, partnerships, and outreach.
• Assist in identifying potential donors, sponsors, and collaborators.

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for the arts, education, and community involvement.
• Experience or interest in nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing, education, finance, or event planning.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and follow-through skills.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the arts.
• Ability to contribute time, expertise, and resources to support EMC Arts’ ongoing development.
• Previous nonprofit or board experience is welcome but not required.
