    Description

The Tax Time Program, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, is a regional community initiative of United Way of Central Ohio (UWCO).

In partnership with UWCO, Columbus Metropolitan Library will be offering free Tax Time tax preparation services for income-eligible individuals and families at some of our library locations during the upcoming Tax Filing Season, January-April 15, 2026 (library locations for these services still to be determined).

Because the Tax Time program relies on volunteer tax preparers, we are inviting you to consider joining our Tax Time Volunteer team.

    General Volunteer Information

    • Volunteers do not need to be tax or accounting professionals.
    • Training will be required to prepare for the role prior to the tax preparation season (February-April 2025)
    • Guidance and support will be available for all volunteers starting with navigating the training requirements and throughout the tax preparation season.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about being a Volunteer Tax Time tax preparer with Columbus Metropolitan Library, please contact Volunteer Services at volunteerservices@columbuslibrary.org

NOTE: Replying with interest does not commit you to becoming a Tax Time volunteer!

When you express interest, we will maintain your contact information and a staff lead for the program will contact you to share additional information for your consideration.
