Copy-editor (English) for Museum With No Frontiers online platform

Museum With No Frontiers (MWNF), founded in 1995, promotes peaceful coexistence between cultures trough better knowldege of history, art and cultural heritage. Since the beginning, the history and artistic legacy of Islam are at the core of most MWNF projects: our Islamic art database - including artefacts selected by our partner museums as well as monuments - constitutes the most comprehensive online resource in this field. Further activities focus on other areas of world culture. Our projects include online exhibitions, galleries, virtual tours and the development of our database. The MWNF team is composed by volunteers only including colleagues from across the globe. Our main working language is English.

We are now looking for a new colleague who is ready to join the MWNF team as copy-editor, a task that requires very good general cultural knowledge, great accuracy and linguistic skills. Furthermore, it is necessary to be a good communicator and to meet the agreed deadlines. The organisation of the work is flexible. Most of the texts to be copy-edited concern the database entries provided by our partners such as descriptions of artefacts or manuscripts. Most of the texts are submitted in Excel spreadsheets and copy-editing includes also harmonisation with the MWNF stylesheet.
