Feast of Justice is a non-profit Choice Market food pantry in Northeast Philadelphia. We are a majority volunteer-staffed grocery store-like food pantry with only 9 paid staff members. We are open for staff and volunteers Monday through Saturday. Our food distribution days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We have receiving and restocking shifts on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Guests from our community shop for their food completely free. Everything is distributed according to family size, selecting from fresh produce, meat, dairy, grab-n-go items, dry goods, and bakery/pastries. For many families, visiting a food pantry can be an embarrassing experience. At Feast of Justice, we seek to dignify and empower our guests through their shopping experience-- creating a safe community for all.

Our pantry is made possible by the support of volunteers and through deliveries of rescue food from local grocery stores. In order to keep our doors open to the public, we require about 400-500 hours of volunteer service donated every week. We need volunteers to help us sort produce and dry goods, restock shelves, and help us set up the market for our guests! The ability to move/lift is helpful, but not required! Create relationships with volunteers and guests while feeding our community in Northeast Philadelphia.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Restocking of dry goods shelves, perishable items in cold storage areas before and/or after distribution shifts.
• Help the receiving team with unloading and sorting items during and after a delivery.
• Ensure that food is being placed in appropriate locations.
• May be asked to lift/move items up to 50 lbs.
• May be indoors or outdoors at certain times of the shift.
