    Description

    Economic empowerment

women face significant challenges, including discrimination, low social status, limited economic independence, and a heightened vulnerability to poverty and HIV/AIDS. In Kamuli, these realities affect young women’s ability to support themselves and their families, making targeted economic empowerment initiatives vital for lasting change. Economic Empowerment project seeks passionate volunteers to join our mission of equipping young women with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to run sustainable income-generating activities. Through vocational training, mentorship, and community engagement, we aim to help women build financial stability and transform the lives of their families.

As a volunteer, you will collaborate closely with local community centers and women’s groups, providing hands-on support and guidance. Your role will involve:

    • Mentorship & Training: Coaching women on business management, basic finance, and leadership skills.
    • Vocational Support: Assisting with craft-making initiatives such as basket weaving, tailoring, sewing, and jewelry-making, helping improve product quality and market reach.
    • Educational Resource Development: Creating and delivering training materials on financial literacy, vocational skills, marketing, and personal development.
    • Capacity Building: Supporting mothers to gain the confidence and knowledge to manage small enterprises and provide for their families independently.

Many of the women you will work with rely on selling local products and forming to generate income. Your input can help improve their production techniques, expand their customer base, and strengthen their business skills—ensuring their efforts lead to sustainable livelihoods.

This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone committed to gender equality, community development, and grassroots empowerment. Whether you bring expertise in business, education, crafts, or simply a willingness to learn and support, your contribution will directly impact lives and foster lasting independence for women in Kamuli.

Join us in creating a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.
