    Description

    Grant Writer: Remote - Based in Muncie, IN

    Location: Remote - Based in Muncie, IN

    Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. Wind Haven Foundation is committed to supporting survivors of domestic abuse through comprehensive recovery services, housing initiatives, prevention, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing the funding necessary to continue and expand our vital programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Grant Writing: Research and identify potential grant opportunities. Develop and write compelling grant proposals tailored to the requirements of various funding sources.
    • Sponsor Proposals: Create and present sponsorship proposals to potential corporate partners and organizations, highlighting the benefits of supporting our cause.
    • Individual Donations: Work with CFO & CEO to develop strategies to increase individual donor contributions. Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors.
    • Fundraising Campaigns: Work event coordinator & CFO to plan, and execute fundraising campaigns, both online and offline, to engage the community and raise awareness about our mission.
    • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all grant & sponsor applications.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Associates degree, equivalent, or higher in finance, business, or related field.
    • Experience: Proven education and/or experience in grant writing or a related field. Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, particularly in areas related to domestic violence & housing initiatives, is a plus.
    • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong research and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Office Suite and fundraising software.
    • Attributes: Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. A strong commitment to the mission of supporting survivors.
    • Location: While this is a remote position, candidates must be based in or near Warner Robins, GA, to occasionally attend local events or meetings.

    Volunteers must complete a federal background check via FBI website & local vendor for fingerprinting. Due to limited funding, volunteers are responsible for the cost of their own background check.
