    Position Overview

    The Volunteer Development Assistant supports Young Mothers, Inc. (YMI’s) fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role is ideal for someone seeking hands-on nonprofit experience in development, fundraising strategy, donor relations, and campaign coordination.

    This is a volunteer position designed to build real nonprofit development experience while contributing to meaningful community impact.

    Responsibilities

    Donor & Database Support

    • Maintain and update donor records
    • Track recurring donations and campaign performance
    • Assist with donor acknowledgment communications
    • Support monthly fundraising tracking

    Fundraising Campaign Support

    • Assist with Giving Tuesday and year-end fundraising efforts
    • Help track campaign metrics and engagement
    • Draft donor follow-up emails and communications

    Grant & Sponsorship Research

    • Research potential grant opportunities
    • Maintain grant tracking calendar
    • Support documentation preparation
    • Assist in sponsor follow-up coordination

    Event Fundraising Support

    • Support fundraising efforts connected to signature programs
    • Track sponsorship commitments and deliverables

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills
    • Detail-oriented and dependable
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, or social impact work
    • Ability to commit consistently to weekly hours
    • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Givebutter, Zeffy, DonorPerfect, etc.)

    Prior nonprofit experience is a plus but not required.
