    Description

    Save Trees at McCollum Park!

We're excited to invite you to volunteer with the Healthy Forest Program at McCollum Park, a beautiful 78-acre space in Everett, Washington. The park offers a diverse landscape, including forested areas, walking trails, and open fields. It's also home to the Northwest Stream Center, which provides educational programing that focuses on local waterways and stream restoration.

Join us on Sunday, March 8, 2026, 12 - 3 PM as we work together to restore essential habitat at McCollum Park. We'll begin with an educational walk through the park. Restoration professionals will be on-site to answer questions about plants, restoration practices, and conservation efforts. Volunteers will focus on removing introduced blackberry and ivy which compete with native plants for resources and cause environmental harm.

This is a great opportunity to connect with nature, create community, and make a positive impact on our local environment. We look forward to seeing you there!

What we are doing: We will focus on removing ivy, blackberry, and other weeds.

What to bring: Please wear long sleeves, long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty or snagged on prickly plants. Bring a full water bottle and a snack. Hand tools and gloves will be provided, but you can bring your own if you wish. Remember to bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.

Where to park: Park in the lot north of the old swimming pool at McCollum Park (600 128th St SE Everett, WA 98208).

Where to meet: We will meet at the northwest end of the park, in the parking lot north of the swimming pool. Follow the signs and look for the people wearing yellow vests.
