    CCHI Board Members and Officers

    You may know a family facing this challenge: their adult child with a disability wants to live independently, but suitable housing options are limited or unavailable—either because existing options are too restrictive or lack adequate support. The Collaborative Community Housing Initiative (CCHI) was launched in 2019 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to address this critical need by creating sustainable, vibrant living solutions for adults with disabilities.

    CCHI is a grassroots organization where board members play a hands-on, supportive role, helping to grow and guide the organization. Our board is small but mighty, and together we have significantly expanded CCHI’s reach and impact over the past five years.

    We are currently seeking a board member with experience in growing an organization’s development and fundraising capacity to help strengthen our resources and ensure the long-term sustainability of CCHI’s mission.

    The general role is described below.

    Board Member

    • Contribute to and attend Quarterly Board Meetings(Virtual or in person)
    • Attend at least 2 CCHI Programs: i.e. group meetings, events, fundraisers(Virtual or in person)
    • Represent CCHI in our broader community for collaborative inclusive networking, supporting our organization's mission and vision
    • Annually review and approve Organizational documents
    • Organizational Plan
    • Financial Statements
    • Annual budgets
    • Internal Controls and Fiduciary protocols within the Organization
    • Contractual agreements entered into by CCHI
    • Organizational accounts
    • Board of Directors’ and Officers’ Insurance (appropriate level of coverage and policy term)
    • Assist in building and engaging in stakeholders in our community to further CCHI Mission & Vision
    • Act as a team player in CCHI discussions and events, always embracing and using the Mission & Vision of CCHI as guidance
    • Willingness to engage with outside organizations and business entities to promote collaboration in our community on behalf of CCHI
    • Recommend other like minded organizations to learn from, and open up opportunities to share CCHI’s mission and vision, best practices to continuously improve our organization
    • Commit to following and supporting our *Relationship & Communication Covenant
    • Lead at least one committee/task force per year to assist in executing CCHI’s annual goals and strategic plan
    • Contribute around 4 hours per month to CCHI, more if needed based on individuals/organizations goals(This includes meetings, fundraisers, events, etc)
    • Assist in recommending and nurturing relationships with future board members

    Officers -

    President -

    • Above responsibilities with added:
    • Preside at all meetings of the membership
    • General and active management of the business of the Board
    • See that all orders and resolutions are brought to the Board
    • Superintendence and direction of all other officers and see that their duties are properly performed
    • Distribute to the Board and Members, and make publicly available as necessary, the organization’s annual report of operations and fund balances
    • Shall have the power and duties usually vested in the office of the President.

    Treasurer -

    • Manage Organization’s Financial Matters, including but not limited to; financial reporting, annual budgets,establishing and managing bank accounts, manage deposits and payments, maintain necessary reserve designated funds
    • Oversee the Fundraising and Grant process
    • File Federal and State Tax Returns and other necessary State and Local Filings on behalf of the Organization
    • Establish and monitor the Organization's internal controls over assets, disbursements and internal procedures involving assets and liabilities of the Organization
    • Oversee Annual Financial Statement reviews and/or audits, as necessary
    • Oversee the creation of annual budgets and distribute to the Board for approval
    • Distribute financial statements and cash flow analysis to the Board for review and moderating organizational assets
    • Oversee the creation and management of the organization’s annual budget.
    • Assist in direct audits of the funds of the organization according to funding source guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Oversight on Bookkeeping

    Secretary -

    • Organizes and maintains all original corporate records
    • Maintain copies of corporate records in the organization’ protected Google Drive
    • Responsible for attendance taking, agenda distributions and the minutes of the Group Meetings
    • Responsible for scheduling Zoom Meetings, invitations to Board Meetings and Group Meetings, and Storing Zoom Meeting Recordings in their designated place in Google Drive and Trello.
    • Ensure that necessary group meeting minutes/recordings are posted within 48 hours
    • Periodic review of Google Drive storage and sharing parameters for controls of access to sensitive and personal data of persons and organization
    • Responsible for Board Meeting attendance, quota representation and minutes
    • Record all votes and minutes of all proceedings kept for that purpose
    • Work in concert with the President to make the arrangements for all meetings of the Board, including the annual meeting of the organization
    • Schedule and delivery notifications to the Board of all other organizational meetings
