    Description

    Position Overview

The Media & Storytelling Volunteer plays a key role in visually capturing the heart of IMPACT Community Action Partnership’s mission. This creative volunteer will document the work of fellow volunteers and staff across our programs-including food pantries, front desk reception, food rescues, deliveries, and community outreach events. The photos and videos you create will help celebrate our volunteers, promote our mission, and support recruitment and fundraising efforts.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Capture Compelling Visual Content
    • Photograph and/or film volunteers in action across various sites and roles (pantry work, front desk, food delivery, etc.).
    • Attend tabling events and outreach activities to document community engagement.
    • Capture candid and posed images that reflect the diversity, energy, and impact of our volunteer force.
    • Take short video clips or testimonials (when permission is granted) for use on social media and other platforms.
    1. Organize & Share Content
    • Submit edited photos and footage in a timely manner for use in newsletters, reports, and online platforms.
    • Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to identify priority events or subjects to capture.
    • Assist with organizing media into folders by date, location, or theme.
    1. Promote Positive Storytelling
    • Help tell the story of IMPACT’s mission through visual media.
    • Work with staff to ensure proper consent and photo release forms are completed when needed.
    • Contribute to uplifting, respectful, and authentic representation of clients, volunteers, and community members.
