Volunteer Opportunity: Support Young Adults Transitioning Out of Foster Care in the DC Area
Join Open Table and Make a Meaningful Difference in a Young Person’s Life
Calling DC Area Volunteers!
Are you passionate about making a lasting impact in your community? Open Table is seeking caring adult volunteers in the Washington, DC area to support young adults who have aged out of foster care without being adopted or reunited with their families. Imagine the challenge of entering adulthood without the presence of a supportive, caring adult on your 21st birthday. Many of these young adults face life’s milestones alone, and with your help, we can change that.
About Open Table
Open Table is a proven model that brings together 4-7 adult volunteers to form a dedicated support network for one young adult. Together, the group works for a year to help the young adult accomplish their personal goals—whether that’s finding stable housing, pursuing education, securing employment, or building life skills. Volunteers serve as mentors, advocates, and sources of encouragement, helping to build the foundation for a brighter future.
