    Description

Make Easter Cards for Seniors! (Great for Kids & Groups)

At Optage Meals, we deliver hot and frozen meals to seniors in the Twin Cities to ensure that all older adults have access to a friendly face and the nutrition they need. We care deeply about making a difference in our clients' lives and providing much more than food; we want all of the people we serve to know that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten.

We are currently looking for volunteers to make Easter/spring cards that we can send alongside our frozen meals! This is a great opportunity for children, church groups, college organizations, or book clubs! We send meals to over 3,000 households each month, so we'd appreciate all the cards we can get. Even if you can only make one card, we would still love to send it to one of our clients. We have no special requirements for our cards besides that they are somewhat related to spring or Easter and include a kind message. These cards will be sent to seniors from a variety of backgrounds who may be facing many different life circumstances, so we ask that the cards are generic enough to put a smile on anyone's face.

This is a volunteer opportunity that you can complete on your own time using your own supplies. Feel free to add a short note inside a premade card or create a fun card from scratch! Our main goal with this project is to spread extra love to our clients and make them feel appreciated, so we encourage you to use your creativity and have fun! These cards will be delivered in person, so there's no need to worry about postage or making them flat. Cards will need to be dropped off at the Optage Meals office during regular business hours, but other arrangements can be made if needed. We would prefer to receive all cards by the beginning of April to get them sent by Easter, but we hope to eventually send cards to clients year-round.

After you submit the interest form, volunteer coordinator Riley McCall will reach out to you by email, and she will be able to answer any of your questions or give you inspiration pictures.
