    Description

    Get Safe Fund Applications Assistant

    As a Get Safe Fund Applications Assistant (Volunteer) you play a crucial role in managing and processing application requests for emergency assistance, submitted by individuals who identify as DV victims, survivors or organization representatives serving DV victims and survivors.

    It involves carefully reviewing, evaluating, and processing applications within 24 to 48 hours (max), for emergency financial assistance based on LLN’s established criteria and guidelines. The Assistant must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with applicants and internal/external stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and respond to incoming applications for assistance within 24 – 48 hours, weekdays, during LLN's business hours of 830am to 5pm.
      • Verify the completeness of applications and/or supporting documentation.
      • Assess applicants' eligibility based on LLN’s established criteria and guidelines.
      • Communicate with applicants to request additional information or clarification when necessary.
      • Maintain accurate records of applications and those approved via Get Safe Tracker doc, as well as any other further correspondence with applicants.

    Requirements and Skills

      • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
      • Previous experience in processing applications for assistance, social services, or customer service roles (preferred).
      • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
      • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to helping individuals in need.
      • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

    Location – Virtual but must be local to Massachusetts area and be able to get to our in-person events.

    Time Commitment

    Must be able to serve at least 12 months in the role. Attend Get Safe Committee meetings once per week for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Be able to attend LLN’s in-person events.
