Amber Hospice is seeking Vigil volunteers intertested in ensuring our actively dying patients are not alone, suring their last days and minutes of life. Our vigil volunteers are trained at providing their comforting presence during this most fragile and intimite time in someone's life.
Our Vigil Volunteers will receive Volunteer Orientation training, in hopes of understanding the characteristics of death and dying by our interdisciplinary team.
Vigil volunteers will assist our actively dying patients by sitting at their bedside, offering the gifts of companionship and compassion. Our Vigil Volunteers keep "vigil" by providing emotional and spiritual support with peace and comfort. Vigil Volunteers aren't expected to provide physical care for our patients, only their presence serves as the ultimate gift during their end of life transition.

We are currently seeking compassionate volunteers across Metro Detroit (Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties) as well as the Saginaw / Great Lakes Bay Region.
Although our office is located in Novi, we proudly serve patients and families throughout the surrounding communities. Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas to help provide comfort, companionship, and support.
