    About the Role

    The Restoring.Our.Youth.Organization is looking for a compassionate and highly organized volunteer Director of PR, Social Media & Marketing to be a part of our team. The ideal volunteer leader will be highly skilled in the public relation area and will deliver on bringing the community and youth together through our mission, vision, and value statements. This leader will be the liaison for public togetherness.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Manages all marketing materials, website updates, and social media presence on behalf of the organization.
    • Responsible for corporate messaging development and distribution.
    • Ensures all marketing materials and content are in‐line with organization standards and expectations before they are published/distributed
    • Proactively offer ways to advance the organization's brand in industry trade publications, digital media, speaking opportunities, conference participation and other forms of advertising.
    • Actively market and promote the organization's news and project development, property management and acquisition activities including formal press release distribution, article development / pitch, social media, etc
    • Prepare and manage project marketing materials as needed on the behalf of the organization
    • Responsible for the distribution and content of company newsletters and general special content when directed by the CED (Chief Executive Director)
    • Assist team in the preparation of new business materials including RFQ (Request for quote) RFP (Request for proposal) responses, new business meeting pitch and prep, presentations, etc
    • Develop branded materials as needed: PowerPoint Template, RFQ and other supporting materials
    • Recommend short- and long-term goals, objectives, and plans regarding content, marketing, and public relation material to the CED
    • Create the annual marketing plan/budget
    • Implement the annual marketing plan
    • Continually evaluate the public relations strategy
    • Ensure documents and marketing materials are current, accurate and properly reflect the brand and desired messaging
    • Performs other duties as assigned which are in the best interests of the organization

    What You Bring to the Role

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Must be located in the United States of America, preferably in the Chicagoland area.
    • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of digital marketing and advertising, such as paid media, social media marketing, and SEO
    • Working knowledge of design and implementation software necessary for the job function (PowerPoint, Prezi, Word, PDF, MailChimp, Squarespace, Google Analytics, Facebook, Adobe InDesign platform or Adobe CC, etc.)
    • Experience with UX or website development is a BIG plus
    • Advanced design knowledge / experience a plus
    • Strong work ethic and motivation to succeed
    • Works well within a team
    • Demonstrate ability to think creatively and independently
    • Engaging/responsive, and proactive communication
    • Proficient in Google Suite and open to learning new tools.
    • Adaptable, collaborative, and self-motivated
    • Establish and maintain highly professional effective working relationships with senior management, and other appointed officials, including staff, community and business leaders, donors, board members, and others encountered in the course of work
    • Use a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and concerned groups and/or individuals
