    Description

Volunteer with LAFH to offer free haircuts to children, families, and individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Your time and talent can help someone step into their next chapter with confidence and dignity!

Why: You will empower those experiencing homelessness by giving them a fresh, clean cut--a simple yet profound gesture that can restore dignity and boost self-esteem. Your efforts will not only transform appearances but also inspire hope and confidence in their journey toward a brighter future. Let's make a difference one haircut at a time!

Who: L.A. Family Housing (LAFH) works to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Founded in 1983, LAFH served more than 2,500 people living in poverty this past year through its multiple housing and supportive service programs, and has served over 100,000 people since its inception.

    What to Expect:

Volunteers will provide haircuts to participants experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity at one of our service sites.

They will be supported by LAFH staff during the shift and should be comfortable engaging compassionately with participants.

Setup, cleanup, and sanitation of tools/workspace is expected as part of the shift.

    What's Required:

Need to be certified in cutting hair with a license.

Volunteers must bring their own tools/supplies and have prior experience cutting hair professionally or semi-professionally.
