    Title: Copywriter

    Department and/or Team: Marketing

    Reports to: Marketing Director

    Works with:

    Collaborates closely with the Marketing Director and content creation team. The Copywriter is responsible for creating clear, engaging, and mission-driven written content that supports APPR’s outreach, fundraising, and adoption efforts across digital and print platforms.

    Description of Role:

    This volunteer will take the lead on creating clear, engaging, and mission-driven written content that supports APPR’s outreach, fundraising, and adoption efforts across digital and print platforms.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with APPR leadership to develop messaging and written content for marketing, fundraising, and communications.
    • Write compelling copy for email campaigns, website content, social media captions, and promotional materials.
    • Assist in developing consistent brand voice and messaging aligned with APPR’s mission.
    • Support marketing campaigns by crafting clear calls-to-action and storytelling content
    • Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency

    Skills/Qualifications Needed:

    • Understanding of digital ad metrics, targeting, and performance reporting.
    • Strong copywriting skills with a strategic mindset.
    • Familiarity with social media creative (graphic tools like Canva or Adobe a plus).
    • Ability to work virtually (phone, email) on a regular basis.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to maintain professional level correspondence at all times.
    • Must be a creative thinker and approach the role strategically.
    • Must be self-motivated, organized, and consistent with follow through.
    • Must have a HS diploma or higher degree of education.
    • Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare.

    Time Commitment:

    Approximately 5 hours per week, with flexibility. Some grace is offered around availability, but consistency is preferred.
