As the leadership body of Coastlove, the board is responsible for:
- Strategic and organizational planning
- Ensuring strong oversight and financial management
- Fundraising and resource development
- Monitor and add value to Coastlove programs and services
- Enhancing Coastlove's mission and introducing the organization to a broader public.
EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BOARD MEMBERS:
Each board member is expected to:
- Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs
- Serve as active ambassadors for the organization and engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Coastlove to advance its mission
- Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop action to achieve Coastlove's mission
- Assist in building committees such as fundraising and leadership
- Fundraising
- Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing and can influence change
- Prepare for, attend, and take notes in board meetings
- Assist in managing annual reviews and reporting
