    Mission

    Love Life Now Foundation (LLN) is a global awareness and education organization that supports survivors of domestic violence (DV) through year-round initiatives and direct assistance to DV programs. For more information, please visit LLN’s website at: https://lovelifenow.org

    Job brief

    The Board Secretary is a volunteer officer of Love Life Now Foundation’s working Board of Directors. The Secretary supports LLN in record keeping, communications, and documentation of Board meetings. The Board Secretary works in close coordination with the Board Chair, Executive Director, and VP of Operations. LLN’s Board of Directors are not compensated.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Board Chair to coordinate monthly board meetings, including invitations, reminders, and agendas.
    • Coordinate quarterly in-person meetings, including space reservation and catering.
    • Provide meeting minutes to all board members in a timely fashion.
    • Maintain the LLN event and meetings calendar.
    • Complete annual state reporting..
    • Track board members and advisory council’s demographic information for grant writing purposes.
    • Provide administrative support for board operations and governance..
    • Provide support for other administrative needs in the foundation as agreed upon in advance and as time permits.

    • Desire and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to learn and anticipate the needs of the organization.
    • Ability to communicate with others and cultivate relationships on behalf of the President and Board.
    • Ability to be self-directed, take ownership, and see projects to completion in a timely manner.
    • Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, and Adobe.

    Board Terms - Time Commitment

    Approximately 2 hours per week on average, with busier periods around meetings and annual filings. LLN Board members will serve a two-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for two additional terms. Monthly board meetings are held on zoom, and board members are expected to attend each meeting. Board members local to Greater Boston are expected to attend and provide support for LLN in-person awareness events, 2-3 times per year.
