    Description

    Visual Arts Club Facilitator

The ALS Association is in search of a knowledgeable co-facilitator to run the Creative Pursuits Visual Arts Club. The club is offered to people living with ALS who are seasoned artists to beginners, with all media welcome, including digital and AI generated art. During meetings we discuss techniques and share accessible tips, view and discuss professional artists’ work for inspiration, practice art criticism, and learn about art vocabulary and composition techniques. The facilitator would be expected to prep for each meetings topic/ lesson and guide the discussions and provide helpful resources. What makes this class special is its flexibility and understanding of the difficulties that come with art creation while living with ALS. This is a no pressure environment. Our online forum keeps the dialogue going beyond meetings, fostering a supportive artist community. An ideal facilitator will be able to check in on the forum each week to provide feedback on artists' posts. The facilitator will be supported by the director of the Creative Pursuits program in preparation and throughout the meetings.
