    In-person board meetings are every other month in the Seattle area, and committee meetings are held monthly. Board members are also expected to attend and actively support key fundraising and community events throughout the year.

    Description

    Board Member (Fundraising Focus)

    Sister Schools is seeking a Board Member with fundraising experience to join our engaged and growing Board of Directors. This is a hands-on governance role for someone who believes in the power of education and relationships to drive social change and who is excited to actively support fundraising and resource development.

    As a Board Member, you will:

    • Actively participate in fundraising by:
      • Cultivating and stewarding donors
      • Leveraging your networks to support fundraising efforts
    • Partner with the Executive Director to advance fundraising strategy and donor engagement
    • Serve as an ambassador for Sister Schools in the community
    • Participate in strategic planning, financial oversight, and governance
    • Attend bimonthly board meetings and serve on at least one committee

    We’re especially interested in candidates who bring:

    • Experience in fundraising, development, sales, or relationship-based revenue generation
    • Comfort asking for support and building authentic donor relationships
    • A strong belief in education equity and cross-cultural engagement
    • Prior nonprofit board experience (helpful but not required)
    • Professional experience in philanthropy, business development, marketing, finance, or related fields (helpful but not required)
