Events Volunteer for Safe Parking LA

Help Safe Parking LA for events to support safe overnight parking for individuals living in their vehicles.

Why: By volunteering with Safe Parking LA's Events Team, you'll help create welcoming, well-organized spaces where our participants feel supported and respected. Whether you're setting up an event, distributing essential items, or ensuring smooth logistics, your time and energy will directly support individuals.

Who: Safe Parking LA provides safe overnight parking to facilitate stability and housing in Los Angeles County for individuals living in their vehicles, and advocates for fair and equitable treatment and resources for the unhoused.

What to Expect:

Event Set-Up & Breakdown - Helping arrange tables, chairs, signage, and supplies before and after the event.

Distribution Support - Handing out promotional or informational materials.

Logistics & Transportation - Assisting with moving supplies, managing foot traffic, or directing guests.

Volunteers will receive a brief orientation upon arrival and be supported by SPLA staff throughout their shift.

What's Required:

Time Commitment: Most events require a 2-4 hour shift, with start and end times communicated in advance.

Physical Demands: Volunteers should be comfortable with standing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs, and working outdoors.

Dress Code: Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Branded t-shirts may be provided at some events.

Skills & Experience: No specialized skills or prior experience are necessary--just a positive attitude and willingness to help!
