    Description

    About Chronic Pain Project

Chronic Pain Project amplifies the voices of artists living with chronic pain through art exhibitions, storytelling, and community building. Our exhibitions feature approximately 50 works - paintings, drawings, and sculptures - all created by artists navigating life with chronic pain.

    About the Role

We're looking for a creative, outgoing connector to help us identify and secure exhibition spaces across the US where CPP's artwork can be displayed for at least one month. This role is perfect for someone who loves reaching out, building relationships, and thinking creatively about unexpected spaces that can become meaningful venues for art and advocacy. While we'd love someone based in a major metro area, this role can be done virtually from anywhere.

    What You'll Do

    • Research potential exhibition venues locally and nationally - think libraries, hospitals, university galleries, public art spaces, community centers, and vacant or transitional real estate - not coffee shops or small retail
    • Build and maintain a running list of vetted potential spaces with contact information
    • Review the space list with the CPP board before outreach
    • Draft a compelling introductory letter or outreach form explaining CPP and the exhibition concept
    • Reach out to venues via email or submission forms and manage follow-up communication
    • Priority regions include Oregon, California, Washington, New York, Illinois, and the DC area, though national opportunities are welcome

    Ideal Background

    • Extroverted, confident communicator who enjoys cold outreach and relationship-building
    • Creative thinker who can envision non-traditional spaces as exhibition venues
    • Organized and able to manage a list and track outreach status
    • Background or interest in arts administration, event coordination, community organizing, or nonprofit work is a plus
    • Based in a major US city preferred but not required

    Time Commitment

Estimated 3-5 hours per week. Flexible schedule.

    Location

Remote-friendly. Preference for candidates in or near major US cities.
