    Description

    Position Title: Career Readiness Instructor/Coach

    Work Hours: 2-4 hours per week | Flexible schedule

    Supervisor: Academic & Career Readiness Mgr (MatSu) Team: CfWE Team

    Classification: Volunteer Duration: 3 month commitment preferred

    Role Overview:

    The Career/Job Development Assistant Volunteer plays a key role in supporting job seekers as they prepare for employment. This position involves assisting with resume building, job searching, online applications, and interview preparation. Volunteers work one-on-one or in small groups to provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support, helping individuals move toward employment and career stability.

    Key Responsibilities:

     Assist clients in writing and formatting resumes and cover letters

     Support clients in searching for job opportunities using online platforms

     Guide individuals through completing job applications and setting up profiles

     Conduct mock interviews and provide constructive feedback

     Help clients identify career paths based on skills, interests, and goals

     Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

     Collaborate with staff to track client progress and refer clients to additional resources as needed

     Support career development workshops or job fairs, when applicable

    Qualifications:

     Experience in career counseling, human resources, job coaching, or related fields is helpful

     Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills

     Familiarity with resume formats, job search engines, and online application platforms

     Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences

     Patient, supportive, and empowering approach to client support

     Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

     Bilingual skills are a plus but not required

    Training & Support:

      • Volunteers will receive orientation, training on job search tools, and ongoing support from staff. Templates and resources will be provided.
