Our Genetic Legacy is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support our growing team of volunteers for two major events: our Swimathon Fundraiser (May 2, 2026) and We The People Museum Relaunch (September 18–20, 2026), as well as volunteers who will support program operations where needed.
The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, schedule, and support volunteers before and during these events and programs. This role includes communicating with new and returning volunteers, tracking sign-ups and hours, assigning roles and shifts, sending reminders, and helping ensure volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and appreciated. The coordinator will also work closely with youth interns and event staff to match volunteers to event and program needs.
Additional responsibilities may include helping with volunteer orientation, maintaining contact lists, coordinating day-of check-in, and assisting with general event logistics and program operations as needed.
A San Diego–based volunteer is preferred, with availability on all event dates and flexible planning hours beforehand. Experience with volunteer coordination, event support, youth programs, or community engagement is helpful; above all, we are looking for someone who is organized, friendly, and passionate about community impact.
Please fill out the questionnaire and upload your resume and any additional materials you’d like to share.
