    Description

    Elementary Literacy Volunteer (support struggling readers - one student at at time)

    Help a child who is reading below grade level. Volunteers needed to work with elementary-age children in northern Spring Branch once or twice a week. Work with small groups (2-4 students) for an hour once a week. Simple lesson and materials provided for you.

    Volunteers would need to commit to only once-a-week visits with their group of children for at least one semester. One hour training provided before you start as well as a background check. Program has proven results in improving student reading levels.

    Available times are (choose one day):

    5:30 - 6:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at our Campbell Campus (3911 Campbell Rd)

    5:00-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday Pitner Campus (8526 Pitner Rd)

    Instructions:

    We encourage volunteers to join us for at least a semester to give our participants a consistent, trustworthy face to see each week. Volunteer times are once a week for an hour at either of our campuses.

    We do require that our volunteers are background checked. We run background checks once volunteers have chosen a day and time.
