    Virtual Events Coordinator (Volunteer)

    About A&N Career Services Project

A&N Career Services Project is a workforce development and career-readiness initiative focused on expanding access to opportunity for individuals navigating career transitions, workforce re-entry, and professional growth.

Through cohort-based programming, curated convenings, and public-facing events, we bring together professionals, partners, and community members across regions to strengthen workforce systems and advance equitable career outcomes.

As a newly launched initiative, we are expanding our national presence and experimenting with new ways to engage audiences beyond our immediate network.

    About the Role

A&N Career Services Project is seeking a Virtual Events Coordinator (Volunteer) to design, plan, and execute engaging virtual events for national audiences, with a particular focus on Chicago- and Atlanta-based audiences, as well as participants and partners across the U.S.

This role is entirely virtual and centers on creativity, audience engagement, and reach. You will help bring people together online through thoughtfully designed events that spark conversation, share knowledge, and introduce new audiences to A&N Career Services Project and its work.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys virtual programming, online community-building, and creating experiences that attract and retain diverse audiences.

Multiple volunteers may be selected for this role.

    What you will do

    • Plan and coordinate virtual events such as panels, info sessions, workshops, fireside chats, or networking sessions
    • Help shape event themes and formats that appeal to professionals, career explorers, partners, and community members
    • Design virtual experiences that encourage participation, discussion, and repeat attendance
    • Support event promotion strategies to attract audiences beyond A&N’s existing network
    • Coordinate event logistics including registration, run-of-show, speaker coordination, and virtual platform setup
    • Collaborate with communications and partnerships volunteers to amplify reach
    • Support post-event follow-up, feedback collection, and light reporting on attendance and engagement

    Audience Focus

Virtual events may be designed for:

    • Professionals navigating career transitions
    • Early- and mid-career talent
    • Workforce and career services practitioners
    • Employers, partners, and collaborators
    • Community members interested in workforce and career mobility

Events should be accessible to national audiences, with intentional outreach to Chicago and Atlanta communities.

You will be a strong fit if you

    • Enjoy bringing ideas to life through thoughtful planning and execution
    • Are highly organized and comfortable managing multiple details at once
    • Have strong communication skills and are comfortable engaging with the public
    • Are creative, proactive, and solution-oriented
    • Are comfortable working in a virtual-first environment with occasional in-person support
    • Are interested in event planning, community engagement, or program coordination

    Volunteer Engagement Format

This is a virtual volunteer role. All planning, coordination, and execution will take place remotely using shared tools and virtual meeting platforms.

Volunteers will join a 12-week cohort beginning February 2026 and receive onboarding, role guidance, and ongoing collaboration throughout the engagement.

You Will Be a Strong Fit If You

    • Enjoy planning or hosting virtual events, webinars, or online programs
    • Are creative and interested in designing engaging virtual experiences
    • Are comfortable coordinating details and timelines in a remote setting
    • Enjoy thinking about how to attract and engage audiences online
    • Communicate clearly and follow through reliably
    • Are interested in community-building, programming, or events
    • Want to contribute to the public-facing growth of a new initiative

Students, early-career professionals, creatives, career-switchers, and experienced professionals are all encouraged to apply.

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 12 hours per week

Flexible scheduling within the cohort structure

    What you will gain

    • Leadership-level volunteer experience with defined scope, ownership, and accountability in event planning and coordination
    • Portfolio-ready event planning and coordination experience connected to active programs, convenings, and partnerships
    • Professional references available upon successful completion of the engagement
    • Mentorship opportunities with experienced leaders in career services and workforce development
    • Inclusion in a growing professional network connected to the A&N Career Services Project
    • This role may be suitable for individuals seeking to fulfill academic, professional, or community service requirements
