    Volunteer Development & Partnerships Coordinator

    This volunteer role helps power the mission of the organization by supporting fundraising, grant writing, and sponsorship outreach to grow and sustain our impact.

    Position overview

    The Volunteer Development & Partnerships Coordinator works with leadership to identify funding opportunities, support grant proposals, and cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing and communication skills who wants hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.

    Key responsibilities

    • Research potential funding sources, including grants, individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners.
    • Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and sponsorship proposals.
    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, sponsorship deliverables, and fundraising milestones.
    • Support planning and promotion of fundraising campaigns or events, both online and in-person.
    • Help with outreach to prospective sponsors and donors, including preparing emails, call scripts, and pitch materials.
    • Track and update records of donations, sponsors, grant submissions, and funding outcomes.
    • Contribute ideas to improve fundraising strategies, donor recognition, and sponsor benefits.

    Qualifications and skills

    • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
    • Comfortable researching online, organizing information, and working with basic documents and spreadsheets.
    • Professional, courteous communication style with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
    • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
    • Prior experience in fundraising, grant writing, or sales is a plus but not required.

    Time commitment and reporting

    Estimated commitment: 5-10 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months (flexible based on availability).
