Many adults want to learn the English language to access better jobs, pursue education, advocate for their children, and have easier conversations with others. Through hard work and perseverance, adult learners can change their own, and their family’s lives, for the better.
Do you want to make a difference? Become an English as a Second Language tutor with the Lake County Library’s Literacy Program!
No previous experience is needed. As long as you have a good command of the English language, reading and writing skills, and an interest in helping others, you can help. We provide new tutor training and ongoing support. Tutors bilingual in Spanish are especially needed.
We offer one-on-one free tutoring for individuals ages 16 and older to improve their English reading, writing, and conversation skills. Tutoring committment is 1-2 hours weekly.
Tutoring takes place at our library branches around the lake. Virtual options available as well.
