    Description

    Boost Our Volunteer Power!

    Recruit new OHS volunteers for events and programs; support and oversee our volunteer program, which includes volunteer interaction and acquisition, retention, recognition, and record keeping.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Recruits volunteers for various shifts for scheduled events, works with other events personnel to coordinate staffing, attends the event or designates event set up, staffing clean up, photographers, and reporting
    • Oversees the program and any volunteering program staff to assist vetting and greeting of potential volunteers to ensure they are being directed to the correct program manager for the best success.
    • Works with staff to create new or modify job descriptions for each role in the Volunteering Program
    • Helps create and modify processes for each role in volunteering
    • Make sure each new volunteer recruited completes paperwork: OHS General Volunteer Application and non-owned vehicle driving documents if driving for OHS so they are covered by insurance; applicants working with youth need additional screening.
    • Oversees maintenance of personnel records.
    • Notify OHS Secretary to issue an OHS email/drive if needed (jobs that require volunteer accesses others’ personal information) and ensure new volunteer is added to group mailing lists as needed
    • Post and monitor job ads on VolunteerMatch or other ad sites based on feedback from additional volunteering staff and program managers
    • Join OHS as a member
    • Responsible for monthly Volunteering program report and metrics reporting to the board (# volunteers by program, volunteer hours, etc)
    • Attend monthly general board meetings or assign representative
