    Description

South Project is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young moms through mentorship, resources, and community support. We’re looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to help us grow our network of supporters, strengthen community partnerships, and increase our fundraising capacity so we can reach more women who need us.

    What You'll Do:

    • Research and identify potential funding sources, including donors, sponsors, grants, and philanthropic partners that align with South Project’s mission.
    • Build and maintain a database of current and prospective supporters with key information (e.g., contact info, engagement history, giving capacity).
    • Assist with donor outreach, sponsorship proposals, and fundraising communications.
    • Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
    • Maintain records of fundraising activities and donor engagement, ensuring all communications are documented.
    • Collaborate with the fundraising and development teams to align efforts with our financial goals and community impact strategies.

    Time Commitment:

    • Flexible, remote role
    • Estimated 3-5 hours per week (can vary based on availability and project needs)

    What We're Looking For:

    • Self-motivated and independent, with strong initiative and follow-through
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or partnership development is a plus
    • Collaborative, team-oriented, and mission-driven
    • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow

    Why Volunteer With Us?

As our Development Officer, you’ll play a vital role in helping South Project expand its reach and deepen its impact. Your work will directly support young moms in gaining access to life-changing mentorship and resources. You’ll be part of a passionate team committed to equity, empowerment, and building stronger communities together.
