Southern Anoka Community Assistance Food Shelf is in need of many volunteers to help hungry neighbors. Due to the economy, food shelves have been vital in giving out nutritious food to community members who found themselves unemployed or under-employed. Currently, inflation is taking a toll on already financially strapped community members, increasing the demand at SACA food shelf. SACA invites volunteers to serve in these areas:
Food Market
Give a helping hand and assist clients while they pick out their groceries in the food market. Volunteers assist clients shop, stock shelves and keep the area clean. You will need to lift up to 20 lbs.
Warehouse Volunteer
The true backbone of SACA's operation is the warehouse. Help sort and check dates of food, stock shelves, unload the truck(s), organize and keep the area clean. Ideally volunteers would be able to lift 20-30 lbs. Shifts are available M-Th in morning or afternoon.
Intake/Administration Assistant
If you enjoy interacting with people, consider volunteering for the intake/administration position! As the first point of contact for clients, you will help them schedule appointments, check-in and may assist with other administrative tasks. Intake volunteers are needed on Tuesday through Thursday in the mornings or afternoons.
