We are seeking a Social Media Volunteer to support our growing digital presence and help tell the stories behind our work with clarity, compassion, and purpose. This role reports to the Communications Director and President.

This is a remote, virtual volunteer position, approximately 5–10 hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with the Communications team to help develop a social media strategy and monthly content calendar
- Create engaging content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to grow reach and engagement
- Produce varied weekly content including reels, short-form video, infographics, photos, and captions
- Assist with video editing, with a particular interest in creating reels
- Collaborate with relevant partners and aligned social media accounts
- Stay current on social media best practices, platform updates, trends, and algorithm changes
- Engage with followers and respond thoughtfully to comments and messages
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience as a social media specialist or management of an active Instagram account (nonprofit experience not required)
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram and Facebook (TikTok and/or YouTube experience a plus)
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or similar programs
- Excellent time management skills; organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Open to feedback, collaborative, and solutions-oriented
- Comfort working with sensitive and occasionally graphic animal welfare content including images of injured or recovering animals.
- Spanish fluency is a plus but not required
