    Description

    Purpose

    Engage young people in CR3’s mission through education, leadership development, and advocacy. Work to expand and strengthen the Premier Youth Ambassadors for Radon Reduction (PYA) program.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop youth-appropriate education for schools and youth organizations.

    Create leadership opportunities; mentor youth advocates.

    Coordinate youth involvement in campaigns and events; support youth-led projects.

    Build partnerships with schools and youth-serving nonprofits; develop internships/volunteering.

    Provide youth perspectives to inform SPC decisions.

    Membership & Meetings

    Chair appointed by Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) Chair; members include youth leaders, educators, volunteers.

    Meets at least quarterly; minutes to SPC Secretary.

    The Youth Subcommittee Chair should have strong youth engagement and mentoring skills, along with experience developing educational or leadership programs for young people. They should excel at creating age-appropriate learning materials, fostering youth advocacy, and supporting student-led projects. Effective communication, relationship-building, and partnership development with schools and youth-serving organizations are essential. The role requires creativity, cultural competency, organization, and the ability to inspire and guide youth while representing their perspectives in CR3’s strategic planning.
