Through our Future Golfers of America – Growing the Champions of Tomorrow programming, we serve more than 1,500 young golfers each year through tournaments, clinics, and community initiatives.

The Ted Rhodes Foundation is seeking a dynamic Volunteer Publicist to help elevate our brand, expand our media visibility, and amplify the stories of our youth golfers, events, and community impact. This role is perfect for someone who loves storytelling, sports, youth empowerment, and building strong media relationships.

You will work directly with Foundation leadership and support publicity for major events, sponsorship announcements, youth success stories, and the 2026 Ted Rhodes Junior Golf Tour under our Future Golfers of America - "Growing the Champions of Tomorrow" programming.

    • Coordinate media outreach for major events (Ted Rhodes Charity Golf Classic, Junior Golf Tournaments, Junior Golf Clinics, etc.).
    • Secure interviews, feature stories, and local/national coverage.
    • Craft compelling narratives highlighting youth golfers, alumni, community impact, and partnerships.
    • Support social media and content strategy with PR-aligned messaging.
    • Advise leadership on media strategy and brand storytelling opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in PR, communications, journalism, marketing, or related field (professional or student).
    • Strong writing and storytelling abilities.
    • Comfortable researching media outlets and pitching to journalists.
    • Knowledge of golf, youth sports, or nonprofit communications is a plus but not required.
    • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
    • Passion for youth empowerment and expanding access to golf.

    Time Commitment

    • 5–10 hours per month
    • Flexible remote schedule
    • Ideal for communications students, early-career professionals, or experienced PR volunteers who want to give back.

    Benefits

    • Opportunity to elevate a historic national nonprofit and impact thousands of youth.
    • Gain hands-on PR and media experience with real campaigns.
    • Receive professional references and recognition from the Foundation.
    • Complimentary Foundation-branded gear and access to select golf events.
    • Be part of growing a national junior golf movement.
