    About NAEHD: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a new organization with a mission to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy initiatives to eliminate health disparities in all communities.

    NAEHD aims to serve as a collective voice for all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone with a vested interest has a seat at the table and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission in an effort to end health disparities.

    About the Board Secretary Role: This leadership position ensures accurate documentation of board activities and supports effective communication and organizational compliance. The Secretary also contributes to strategic discussions that advance NAEHD’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Chair and CEO in preparing meeting agendas.
    • Accurately record and distribute minutes from all board meetings.
    • Maintain and safeguard all key documents, including organizational bylaws, policies, and meeting records.
    • Ensure timely communication with board members regarding meetings decisions and follow-up actions.
    • Actively participate in board discussions and decision-making to support NAEHD’s mission and strategic direction.
    • May assist with additional organizational tasks as needed, at the discretion of the Chair.

    Time Commitment: The expectation is that the Board Secretary will commit at least 5 hours a month. The secretary will be expected to attend required board meetings, and other external events representing the organization. Being a newer organization, the Secretary may be occasionally expected to provide additional support beyond the 5-hour monthly commitment to address any emerging needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in previously serving as a board or organizational secretary.
    • Experience or familiarity in non-profit leadership or healthcare is a plus.
    • Experience in project management and coordination.
    • Background in record-keeping, documentation, or non-profit compliance.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Exceptional organizational and writing skills.
    • A commitment to the mission of eliminating health disparities.
    • Ability to manage details and maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with board members, staff, leadership, and stakeholders to advance the mission.
