Feline Foster Program Coordinator
Role Summary
The Feline Foster Program Coordinator provides critical support to SVPP’s Feline Foster Program—from intake and placement to medical scheduling, foster support, and adoption vetting .
Key Responsibilities
Foster Recruitment & Onboarding
- Screen applications, interview candidates, conduct virtual/home-readiness checks.
- Match cats/kittens to appropriate foster homes; deliver orientation and resources.
Case Management & Cat Care
- Manage active caseload (have insurance for a total of 15 feline foster homes).
- Working with Foster Program Manager, coordinate all medical: intake exams, vaccines, deworming, FeLV/FIV testing, spay/neuter, microchip, rechecks; track meds and outcomes.
- With support from Feline Behaviorist advisor, provide behavior and care coaching (litterbox, introductions, socializing, if applicable).
Logistics & Supplies
- Working with Foster Program Manager and volunteers, oversee and maintain inventory (food—incl. prescription diets, litter, crates, meds, enrichment).
Adoption Pipeline
- Write/edit bios; collect photos/video from fosters; promote felines via social media.
- Review adoption applications, schedule meet & greets, support counseling, and finalize paperwork in our system.
Partnerships & Events
- Support adoption and community events at Pup Plaza and around the Bay Area.
Desired Qualifications
- Interest/experience in animal welfare, shelter/foster coordination, vet assistant/tech, or related role.
- Knowledge of feline health/behavior and basic socialization.
- Highly organized with excellent written/verbal communication and empathy.
- Tech-savvy with RescueGroups/Shelterluv (or similar), Google Workspace, and social media platforms
